December 7,1999

After several weeks of very little to show I found the above relics. The button is a Wisconsin Cuff (Albert's 1D & Tice WC200D) with a Scovill back mark. The other artifact, which most likely belonged to the soldier the wore the button is a Jews Harp. They were found about 4 inches apart near Williamsburg, VA.

This button I recently purchased from a friend that had gotten it from a Hampton, Virginia relic hunter. I was told it came from the vicinity of Hampton Military Institute.  It is a low convex button and has an Extra Rich, Orange Colour backmark. I have no information on this button, I will post it as soon as have some

This button I recently dug in a new early war camp my hunting partners and I found in Suffolk, Virginia. Along with this button there were also flat buttons, cut Reales, Spanish Cobs and a multitude of clay pipe stems and pipe bowls.
The button has a fouled anchor in a wreath and the wreath is opened at the top. As you can see it is a three peace staff button with no backmark.
I have never seen one of these before.  If anyone can help me out please Email me any information you may so I can pass it on.
