I have acquired over the years.

Ball R.gif (12281 bytes) Henry C. Ball enlisted into Co. F, 15th Regiment , Massachusetts Volunteers on July 12, 1861 and was given the rank of Corporal and by September 1, 1861 was promoted to 4th Sergeant and then on April 9th, 1863 Henry was promoted again to 1st Sergeant just six days short of three months before he was to be was killed in action on July 3rd, 1863 during Picket's Charge at Gettysburg, Pa. Henry fought in all the other major battles before his death at Gettysburg, Ball's Bluff, Fair Oaks, Savages Station, White Oak Swamp Malvern Hill, Antietam, Fredericksburg.

Ballou R.GIF (53818 bytes) Horace C. Ballou was a 21 year old clerk when he enlisted into Co. F, 2nd Regiment, Vermont Volunteer Infantry. Horace was in the battle of First Bull Run or First Manassas. After that there was a outbreak of Typhoid fever which the Second seamed to stay fairly healthy, out of 1021 men only 87 came down with the fever. After that Horace was detailed to Division Headquarters, Smith's Division, until he was discharged on June 20th, 1864. His term of service had expired.

Geison R.GIF (29177 bytes) Rudolph Geison was a 24 year old German immigrant when, on October 17th., 1861, he enlisted into Co. C, 10th. New York Cavalry, at Buffalo, NY as a Private. He enlisted for 3 years and on December 30th., 1863 he was discharged and the next day he reenlisted into Co. C, 10th. New York Cavalry's Veteran Volunteers until 6/24/65 when he was transferred into "C" Co. NY 1st Prov'l Cavalry and  he was Mustered Out on 7/19/65 at Cloud's Mills, VA.

Joel R.GIF (28824 bytes) Joel L. Shorey enlisted into Co. A, 16th. Massachusetts Infantry on July 2nd., 1861 at the age of 21. He and his regiment were sent to Hampton Virginia. There they witnessed the battle between the Monitor and the Virginia, on May 11, 1862 they left Hampton and landed in Norfolk at Ocean View where they finally ended up in the Norfolk city jail which were used as barracks for Joel and his regiment. From then on Joel and the sixteenth were in and out of battle and camp. Finally on May 2, 1863 at the battle of Chancellorsville Joel was wounded in the left leg and on August 31st., 1863 Joel was discharged from the army.

Guerry F.GIF (29811 bytes) Captain Peter V. Guerry was from Henry County, Alabama and at the age of 45 enlisted into, Co. C 15th Alabama Infantry. He was a gentleman of irreproachable morals kind-hearted, good-natured and a very efficient officer. He command his company well, obeyed orders with alacrity and was in all the campaigns and battles of the regiment until at Cold Harbor , June 27, 1862, he was killed while leading his company gallantly forward. A mine-ball passed through his head killing him instantly. The entire regiment regretted the loss of such a good man and officer.
